North vs. South is a new concept for 2023, and we can’t wait! It’s the battle of the titans, with the Southwest Series taking on the Northern Series to find out which region will come out trumps.
You enter in squads of 4 players from your region: two men and two women. We have space for 10 squads per region. We will then rank the squads from each region based on their current Northern Series/Southwest Series ranking.
The 5 highest rank Northern Series squads will play a ‘duel’ against each of the top 5 Southwest Series Squads. The bottom 5 ranked Northern series squads will play a duel against each of the bottom 5 Southwest Series squads.
A duel works as follows: the men’s pair plays against the men’s pair. Then the women’s pair plays against the women’s pair. If a squad wins both games then they win a point for their region. If it is tied at one game apiece then we play a golden set of mixed volleyball, with the participants being randomly drawn by the referee. The squad that wins the golden set wins a point for the region.
The winning region will be the one with the most points at the end of the weekend! In the event of a tie, we will randomly draw a number. The squads of this rank will play a final duel to decide the winner.
The event will take place over the weekend of 29-30th July.
This event will take place at Keele University. Each squad’s entry includes:
- Tournament entry
- Dinner on 29th July
- Twin Room/Family Room Accommodation on 29th July
- Breakfast 30th July
We have booked rooms for everyone in the Courtyard Marriott, a short walk from the courts. The standard room booking is that the men’s pair and so do the women. We also have some family rooms available for anyone coming with kids and double rooms can be arranged for couples. There is space on the form below at sign up to provide information about this.

We will be heading to the excellent nearby pub the Sneyd Arms for dinner on the Saturday night. This will be a three course meal with everyone-a chance to chat, kick back and relax. The food is included in the price of sign up; drinks can be purchased separately. Food must be ordered in advance-we will send out details in the month before the event.
Entry costs £600 per squad, or £150 per player, to include accommodation, tournament entry & dinner on the Saturday night.
We have also made a non-player package for anyone who would like to come to be part of the weekend, but won’t be playing. This includes a night at the hotel, breakfast and dinner.
