Join us for our fourth round of the Southwest Series 2024!
BeachFest Porthcawl
Dive into an action-packed weekend of beach sports, lifeboat displays and bucketfuls of more fun as BeachFest hits Porthcawl’s shores. Sandy Bay will play host to the beach sports elite, as teams from across the UK compete across beach volleyball, surf rowing, beach cricket and more.
The activities will extend into the evening on Saturday 15th June with beach flags, plus a fire-show finale to ignite an exciting climax to the day’s events, before festivities resume on Sunday 16th June. The Southwest Series Round #3 will be running alongside BeachFest Porthcawl on the 15th and 16th June in Sandy Beach, Porthcawl. The RNLI will be also hosting exciting demonstrations, entertainment and fundraising activities with the return of its popular RescueFest event on Sunday 16th June, alongside a variety of music, games, entertainment, displays, demonstrations and market stalls throughout Porthcawl over the weekend.
Format
Saturday is Men’s & Women’s Pairs. This is a 2* UKBT tournament. We will play pool games followed by single elimination. You need a UKBT membership to play. We welcome teams of all levels to these events.
Sunday is Mixed Pairs. This is not a UKBT event, so you don’t need a UKBT membership to enter. Our mixed events are fun and friendly. Depending on entries we may do a cup and plate competition. Players of all levels are welcome.
Refereeing. The pool stages are self-refereed. The knockout games are refereed by other teams. We provide whistles, scoreboards etc.
SW Series points. Players earn points at every Southwest event they enter. These points are used to seed the mixed events and count towards qualification for the Southwest Finals. This year’s ranking index is built from your previous Southwest Series event results and will be the sum of your best four results from the season. You can see your current ranking here.
Who is this Event For?
Our Southwest Series events are designed to be accessible to players of all levels. We guarantee everyone 5 games and we pride ourselves and our community on being open, friendly and warm. It’s perfect for new players to try out playing a tournament! After pool play we split teams off so that you always play teams of around your level in the afternoon.
Price
Early Bird (3 weeks in advance): £32 per pair
Standard price: £37 per pair
Student Price: £30 per pair (both players must be current students-we will check student IDs on the day).

Early Bird deadline is midday on Sunday, 26th May.
Entry deadline is midnight, Wednesday 12th June.
